Minutes of TRAC Club meeting at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8th, 2006, at the Red cross Office

Discussions:
1.) WIMU2006 – Joel Harrison, W5ZN, newly elected President of ARRL will be keynote speaker at the Saturday night, August 5th, banquet. Charles, K7ZOO, WIMU2006, Executive Director of WIMU2006, will make a personal written invitation from the club. New forum addition: Lee Barrett, K7NM, will present a “Phased Vertical Arrays” forum Saturday the 4th. Division Directors attending WIMU2006: Rev Morton, WS7W, ARRL Rocky Mountain Division Director, and Jim Fenstermaker, K9JF, ARRL Northwestern Director, will attend WIMU2006. Total Individual & Club contributions to date for WIMU2006, including “seed money” from last WIMU, is now $2,700.00. There is an additional $212.00 from pre-registrations. All WIMU2006 money is in a separate WIMU2006 checking account at “Bank of Jackson Hole”.
2.) New member: James Bigelow, KC7QVE, Driggs, Idaho.
3.) RACES/ARES radio equipment: All radio equipment, except antennas, is currently stored at the Red Cross office. The Red Cross office is currently being re-arranged to provide an operating & shelving area for the radios. All antennas, currently at the Adams Canyon Comm. Trailer location will be installed above the Red Cross office when weather permits. We plan to use the Red Cross office for 2006 Club (W7RAC) Field Day operation as category 3F.
4.) Tony Laskis, Red Cross Program Specialist, showed us the Satellite Phone, made by Qualcomm to be used in the event of an Emergency when all other modes of communication are not functioning (eg. Earthquake). The phone is property of the County EMA.
5.) Club Dues: As directed by the Club’s Constitution & by-laws the annual $20.00 per member fee is due. David, W7OID, Jamie, KC7QVE, Duran, W7AJK, & Bill NE9Z, did remit at the meeting. Dues can be sent to NE9Z at _.). Box 333, Moran, WY, 83013. All TRAC money is in a checking account at “Bank of Jackson Hole”.
6.) The Club will begin our first VE Testing session on April 11th, 2006 at the Red Cross office at 10:00 AM. David, W7OID, will attain all the required material from ARRL.
Note: All TRAC & RACES/ARES members are encouraged to check in to the Monday night nets on the 146.910/146.310 County Races Repeater as follow:
· 8:15 PM Races/Ares Net – For Check-ins for emergency or priority traffic and later, after emergency & priority traffic, advise comments pertaining to RACES/ARES .
· 8:30 PM TRAC Club Net – For check-ins and comments from all club members. All Ham visitors in the valley are also encouraged to check in.
