Discussions:

1.)    David, W7OID - Installation of four (4) bay array, Cush Craft VHF antenna on a 20’ mast atop Rendezvous Mountain and the vastly improved APRS coverage in Montana & Idaho and the affect on increased APRS traffic and do to the increased loop circuit beacon hits from other Igates.

2.)    Dennis, KS7WY, has temporarily shut down his Igate awaiting resolution of minimizing loop circuit Igate concerns.

3.)    Success of recent LATOJA Bicycle Race and TRAC’s participation.  Each TRAC participant received two (2) LATOJA T-shirts (1-yellow & 1-white) and an identifying LATOJA Lanyard worn during communication help at various assigned locations.

4.)    Discussed ARES/RACES members need for more advanced emergency classroom  instructions and local and/or state emergency drills experience.  We need additional experience in handling emergency & priority traffic and/or health & welfare traffic.  This discussion was prompted by the lack of QUICK response by Louisiana local & state agencies and also federal FEMA response in all the affected areas & states during and after the Katrina Hurricane disaster.

·        We also discussed the chain of command in Teton County as to initial emergency response and assignments by the Incident Commanders or Commanders to include the local Teton County EMA Coordinator and all other agencies.

5.)    WIMU – Charles, K7ZOO, Executive Director for WIMU2006 gave a summary of the following items:

·        Donations:  To date WIMU2006 has $1800.00 “seed” money in the Bank of Jackson Hole, from individual donations and from money left over from past WIMUs.

·        Outlined a list of “Key” Hams who Charles talked to by phone throughout the four (4) states, outlining TRAC’s commitment and responsibilities as the sponsoring club for WIMU2006.  Charles also discussed, with all four state contacts, the need for further donations from individuals or clubs and asked for any suggestions or objections on venue, activities erc.  He also discussed  with “key” Hams the money liability in the event of failure or success of a WIMU convention by any sponsoring club or group of HAMS.   The concern is how much money should a club retain if successful and their liability to refund the WIMU organization if unsuccessful and lose money.  Discussed the need for a plan to have the four (4) state key executive committee representatives, to agree and sign off on, for future protection against failure and loss of funds for future WIMUs.

6.)  One thousand (1000) club QSL cards (W7RAC) have been ordered from a QSL card printer in Germany.

NOTE:  All TRAC & ARES/RACES members are encouraged to check-in to the Monday evening nets on the 146.910/146.310 County Races repeater as follows:
